Launch of dataforest.net — what will happen to PHP-Friends and Avoro?
At the end of February, we were finally able to present our new dataforest website, which we worked on with love (and, frankly, a bit too long). Time to write official news about this and answer your questions!

Same company, new brand?
Three years ago, the merger of PHP-Friends and Avoro created today's dataforest GmbH. We are very honored that dataforest has become a popular brand in the hosting industry over the years, but it is more the fault of our loyal customers, because until recently dataforest.net only showed an (impressively frequented) contact form. Our new website, which has also been available in English for a few days now, shows for the first time in this form who we really are: It provides comprehensive insights into how we work, our history, our infrastructure and our team — things that we have kept in the background so far. At the same time, it presents our complete B2B product portfolio, which we have developed over the years without communicating it centrally.
What happens to PHP-Friends and Avoro?
The fact that we only target the B2B segment on dataforest.net has understandably raised questions. Don't worry: This has no effect on the operation of running products. The content reflects our overall company philosophy and for customers of our existing brands Avoro and PHP-Friends Nothing changes for now. As a company, we will continue to serve private customers equally, even though the new website is aimed specifically at business customers. However, we can already reveal that PHP-Friends will be transferred to the dataforest brand in the long term, while Avoro will remain as a strong brand. The PHP-Friends product portfolio is therefore not going away - but we are gradually converting individual elements such as email senders from PHP-Friends to dataforest. So don't be surprised!
A bit of history — and an outlook
Fun fact: The dataforest brand — which you know from our invoices, for example — was created even before the merger of the two companies, namely in the former PHP-Friends GmbH. It was then chosen as the company name to reconcile Avoro and PHP Friends, and completely rethought and redesigned for this website. It all took a really long time, but we're incredibly proud of the result and, of course, incredibly grateful for the positive feedback we've received from you!
Of course, that's not all and we have a lot to report on, but this website, into which we also have integrated our new blog, is the starting signal we needed to finally be able to provide you with news again. We even hired someone for “content maintenance” (website and social media) for the first time — for us as a team consisting almost exclusively of technicians, this was very unusual at first! As a little teaser, we would like to let you know that we have recently moved into another data center and would like to take you with us on this exciting journey. See you in a few days!
By the way: As part of the release of our new website, we have of course also consolidated our social media channels under our new brand. There, too, you can finally expect regular content again in the near future.
