A managed private cloud consists of at least three physical servers, making it possible to set up a high-availability cluster (HA). We set up every customer cloud environment with Ceph as a storage substructure and corresponding HA group, so that your new cloud platform is highly available from the factory. If a physical host fails, the affected VMs immediately boot to another host without any noticeable interruption or even loss of data — our readiness then checks and uninterrupts the failed system and migrates the VMs back after troubleshooting.
Your managed private cloud is located in a German high-security data center directly in Frankfurt am Main. But physical security isn't the only thing that matters. Therefore, you can both make extensive firewall settings in Proxmox and, if you wish, have us set up a central firewall based on OPNsense, which acts as a central security gateway for your VM traffic and can be equipped with any rules. The accidental opening to the outside of services that are not intended for the public can thus be effectively prevented, as all unapproved data traffic is blocked by the firewall.
In Proxmox VE, you can not only create simple KVM machines and LXC containers, but also use extensive enterprise cloud features. This makes it possible to divide into different VLANs as well as equipping your virtual machines with multiple network cards. Connecting storage is also very easy and can be done either via block storage or via object storage via NFS or CephFS to share a database across several VMs. The cost-effective simulation of a complete data center landscape is thus possible with just one click.
By live migrating VMs, you kill two birds with one stone: The perfect balance of physical server resources saves money compared to inefficiently utilized individual servers, and maintenance work (for example to expand storage) can be carried out without failure.
Three servers are already very fail-safe, but they're not the end of the line — for particularly high availability and data security requirements, we can operate your managed private cloud across multiple data centers and thus increase availability to almost 100%. It is also possible to expand your company's own data center with a cluster that mirrors all of your data with us and can step in in in an emergency.
We can cover every need for IP addresses, regardless of whether you bring your own IP networks (BYOIP - “bring your own IP”) or want to rent IP networks from us. IPv6 networks purchased by us are always free of charge — and services that run behind a central load balancer do not require public IP addresses and are therefore also easy on your wallet. By completely isolating your managed private cloud from other customer infrastructures located with us, you can use any internal IP address range
